Excellent value 720P

Okay so this projector is supposed to be for the classroom or office but I used it for my home theater! Set up 11 1/2" feet away on the ceiling projecting onto 100" diagonal screen. I love it!!! It might not be a clear as my 50" plasma 720p but it is also 4 times the size! considering most DVD's and most Directv input is 720p or less, I feel comfortable recommending this projector. I have not seen 1080p projectors so I cannot say if they are way better or not but they are twice the price so will they be twice as nice? I do not think so. I was very pleased with the picture quality and the flexibility this projector has to set up the color and the video. I used HDMI 25ft cables and got the best picture. The s video was ok and the RCA composite was not ok! So do not go there. Overall I love the quality and until more stuff is 1080p I see no reason to blow thousands for it. I also did not see any rainbow artifacts but maybe if I had a $2000 projector sitting side by side I could see a difference but to my eyes and wallet this is awesome for $500.

I watched another movie last night on it and I will say the brightness (lumens 2800) is plenty for a fairly bright room so it does not have to be completely dark to enjoy. It only gets better as the sun goes down! As for distance, projectorcentral.com has a great feature that you plug in the projector model you are looking at and the diagonal size screen you are planning and it tells you exactly how far back to place the projector!! IT was VERY helpful in making the right spot to hang it! This projector does not have much zoom or ability to "Shift" the picture so dead center and the exact distance back are critical. But once you have that it is easy and awesome! STILL LOVE IT!! [...]

OK!! Ran a blu ray DVD through this projector and OMG!! Awesome!! 720p or 1080p is nearly impossible to see the difference. Go for this one and get a blu ray!! Regular DVD's are only 480p so that is all you get. Blu ray will play your DVD's and Blu rays!!!

Bright sharp exellent contrast

This projector does what $2000.00 projectors do for 1/4th the price and then some. In bright daylight with Windows open shades/curtains pulled you can see the image just as well as an led/lcd/plasma in a bright room, now when you pull the shades/curtains down that's where the magic begins, first I wont lie its picture isn't better than the newiet led TVs but it holds its own against LCD/plasmas , the 3d is AMAZING but 3d will require a dimmer room if u want to enjoy.
If your into 3d make sure u get DLP 3D Glasses and NOT active/passive 3d glasses, they work just as good as the active but different tech.
XBox 360 awesome on it
Wii is awesome for it
PS3 is my favorite system on it, because you have a blu-ray & 3d player built in and great ones at that.
PC is excellent as well.
I do highly recommend mounting to ceiling.

Pros:

Bulb life is great of you use eco mode
Price is excellent
I noticed very little rainbow effect and my wife has never noticed, (only a small% of people notice this)

Cons:
Replacement housing bulbs are way overpriced, in-fact in theory its cheaper to sell the projector when the bulb is low on hrs and buy a new one with a new bulb and be 0 to 100$ out of pocket and new unit vs 200 to 300 for a new lamp unit.

Without ceiling mount it still works great but could easily be bumped off table and yeah

Currently I have 400+hrs on this projector and bulb with no loss of brightness or any problems to speak of..

5 Stars for a 720P Projector

I was hesitant to buy this, but i didn't want to pay $800 for a full res projector for 1080p. For the price it's a great projector. If you notice the slight blurriness of 720p and that bothers you, don't buy this projector. If you can enjoy 720p, though it's not quite a perfect picture, then this projector is the best option. I have a 50in 720p LCD TV this projector is comparable, If my TV were a 10, this projector would be 9.5, simply because the picture is larger and therefore slightly blurrier.

Pros:
For 720p this is a great quality projector.
Smaller than most projectors
Lighter than most projectors
Not as hot as other projectors
HMDI Port
Nice Warranty

Cons:
Only 1 HDMI Port

All in all, for what this projector was made for i give is 5 stars, it's not a 1080p projector, and shouldn't be compared to once, it is what it is, and is a great option for the price.
